Why Zilliqa?
Often time people ask me and our team in RedChillies about why we chose Zilliqa as a platform to develop a prediction and gaming platform. This is a breakdown of why we like to call projects at RedChillies — Zilliqa powered.
Supportive and Welcoming Community
This needs to be one of the major reasons why we are in Zilliqa. The community has always been supportive of the new features or enhancements we bring. While developing RedChillies, our major vision was to develop users, and the community really matched with the vision. Right now, we have build our own niche who are daily users of the platform and they are helping us grow the platform and make it better. Another thing that really helped us with the community was that we could educate and grow the community along the way and make smooth transitions. Now we are aiming at Advanced Prediction Markets and the community seems to be excited more than ever. Cheers to the RedChillies community! You guys are awesome.
Scilla — Security by Design smart contracts
The programming language used in Zilliqa is called Scilla. Scilla has security by design. What this means is that when we design contracts in Scilla, the design of the Scilla does not lead to any security threats like that of Solidity or any other programming language. The contracts in Scilla do exactly what they are supposed to be doing. This always leaves a margin for logical errors so multiple reviews and auditing might do the job. Scilla is competent against security threats and not stupidity.
Community Enablers
There are community enablers like Zilhive and IgniteDAO(previously Zillacracry) who help platforms with certain development funds to start developing their platforms. We got funded by IgniteDAO in the initial stage that helped us through the development phase of RedChillies. Another thing that we get from these community enablers is guidelines and reviews. The suggestions from the industry experts were so much help to our team. Huge shoutout to the IgniteDAO team for helping us reach where we are today.
Developer supportive ecosystem
When we started developing the RedChillies ecosystem, developers had a lot of questions. The community was so supportive in telegram and discord that those questions never really became the problem. I still remember a day where I was stuck in writing a contract and Amrit, the president of Zilliqa was there for help. That is the level of support we got from the Zilliqa community and we are extremely grateful for that.
